PRINCETON, NJ — As temperatures soar across the state, there’s no better way to enjoy the warm weather than indulging in an icy, sweet treat.

And looks like Princeton will have a lot more visitors coming to town to taste one of the best ice creams in the country.

The Bent Spoon, located in Palmer Square was recently named among the best ice cream shops in the country by Thrillist.

The artisanal ice cream shop was the only one from New Jersey to make the list compiled by the food, drink, travel and entertainment magazine.

“This is a place where seasonality is king, and while you can always get a top-notch traditional flavor or a modified classic (think Habanero Chocolate), the place is also doing the kind of flavor experimentation normally reserved for the chemistry lab,” the magazine wrote.

Some of the experimental flavors mentioned in the magazine were Blueberry Mascarpone, chocolate with ramps, and pumpkin with shiitake mushrooms.

“None of those things sound like they belong together. But they’re almost always fantastic—especially when paired with one of the Spoon’s legendary cookies,” Thrillist said.

Founded by Gabrielle Carbone and Matthew Errico in 2004, The Bent Spoon already has a cult following in the Township and surrounding neighborhoods.

Last year, the ice cream shop created quite a buzz for debuting its cicada chocolate chip ice cream at the height of the 'Brood X' cicada invasion. More: Princeton Gets Buzzy With Bent Spoon's Cicada Ice Cream

Carbone and Errico are currently having a busy summer making ice creams and sorbets. Expect flavors like thyme, rosemary, basil, heirloom tomatoes and more. And then there’s also the much-loved organic sweet corn.
