Letter: Princeton Needs "Contemporary" Experience and "Proven Leadership"
Why the Princeton Democratic candidates will deliver on the full promise of consolidation!

To the Editor:
Nearly one year ago, the voters of Princeton took the historic step to approve the consolidation of our two municipalities. Now we are about to elect the first mayor and council to represent our new, unified municipality. The seven Democratic candidates running for these elected positions (Liz Lempert for Mayor, Heather Howard, Patrick Simon, Lance Liverman, Bernie Miller, Jenny Crumiller, and Jo Butler all for Council) led the charge to approve consolidation. The past 10 months, they have continued to be involved in the consolidation process spending countless hours working closely with the Transition Task Force for consolidation on the details of how to most effectively integrate our two municipalities. As a result, these seven dynamic, diverse, hard working candidates, as a team, offer the best “contemporary” experience and “proven” leadership to ensure that Princeton fully benefits from consolidation in the years ahead. Moreover, if elected, these champions of consolidation will continue to strongly support initiatives and policies that encourage affordability, sustainability, economic development, and cost-savings and transparency in our governmental practices, all of which are critical to Princeton remaining a great place to live. I am wholeheartedly supporting these seven worthy candidates on Tuesday, November 6th, and I encourage all voters to do so as well.
