Brandywine Residents Named King And Queen Of Senior Prom In Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ — Two residents of Brandywine Living at Princeton were named King and Queen of the Prom. Last week.

Chester Parks and Rhoda Kessler were named King and Queen of the Senior Prom, a unique event held courtesy of the Hun School of Princeton.

The Senior Prom was the first intergenerational program of its kind at the community.

The prom, held at Brandywine Living at Princeton on Feb. 25, had an “Old Hollywood” theme in homage to the Academy Awards, which was held two days later.

Residents of the assisted living facility, aged 75-103, were escorted to the prom by students of the Hun School, ranging from the freshmen to senior class.

Some of Brandywine’s residents never had the opportunity to attend a prom before this. One resident exclaimed, “I have to go shopping – I haven’t a thing in my closet for such an event!”

Hun School teachers and students, along with Brandywine staff, decorated the community’s main dining room in black, silver, and gold, offering a nod to Hollywood’s Golden Age. Classic images of Hollywood’s finest actors and actresses adorned the venue, adding further flair to the theme.

Attendees enjoyed fine dining, prepared by Brandywine’s own chefs, live music, and dancing. Hun’s Jazz Ensemble and their a cappella group, the Edgertones, provided live entertainment for the evening.
