Café Improve, ‘I’m Harvey Milk’: Weekend Events In Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton has some interesting events lined up this weekend ad you will be spoilt for choice.

You can take your pick from sporting events, music, plays and more. Here’s what’s happening:

I’m Harvey Milk: Saturday, June 24 at 7 p.m. the Princeton Festival presents ‘I Am Harvey Milk’, a musical theater by acclaimed Broadway composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa. The show celebrates the legacy of Harvey Milk, an American icon and the first openly gay man to hold office in California. Conducted by Lippa, the performance serve as the world premiere of a revised version of the original work, and take place in the tented performance pavilion on the grounds of the Morven Museum and Garden. Peter and the Wolf: The final day of the 2023 Princeton Festival will see Sergei Prokofiev's timeless tale of boy vs. wolf comes to life with the theatricality of Really Inventive Stuff's Michael Boudewyns. A fully-staged vaudeville-inspired solo performance is guaranteed to engage and inspire imaginations of all ages. The performance will be held 4 p.m. at the tented performance pavilion on the grounds of the Morven Museum and Garden.

Café Improve: For the past 25 years, Café Improv has connected beginning and professional performers in the Arts Council of Princeton’s Solley Theater. Café Improv is a wonderful gathering place to share artistic ideas and inspiration. Attendees can expect an evening of exciting music, poetry, comedy, and more. Admission rate is $1 for ACP Members and $2 general admission. Saturday, 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arts Council of Princeton.

Vintage baseball: On Saturday, June 24, The Historical Society of Princeton will host The Flemington Neshanock and the Liberty Base Ball Club of New Brunswick in a friendly match of vintage baseball. The teams will play bare-handed, wearing period uniforms and using 1864 rules. The game will be held at Greenway Meadows Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more details click here.
