Cocaine, Fraud Highlight Princeton Police Report

Princeton Police release their activity report.

PRINCETON, NJ — The following information was provided by Princeton Police. The incidents are merely accusations. Those accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Princeton University Public Safety reported having 45-year-old Christopher Marsland, of Princeton, in their custody on an active no bail warrant issued by Princeton Municipal Court on April 16. Marsland was subsequently arrested by Princeton Police, taken to police headquarters for processing and later housed at Mercer County Detention Center.

Jaime Vargas-Bautista, 25, of Princeton, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a witness reported seeing a man snorting cocaine on Nassau Street on April 16. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and released after being served a summons with a pending court date.

On April 17, a victim reported being defrauded of $754.50 via a MoneyGram scam.

Brandon Dacosta, 32, of Parlin, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for failure to wear a seatbelt on the 100 block of State Road on April 17.Dacosta was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued motor vehicle summonses and a pending court date and released on his own recognizance.

Moises Vasquez-Espinozo, 44, of Trenton, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Neptune Municipal Court in the amount of $310 after he was stopped for speeding on the 200 block of South Harrison Street on April 17 at 8:22 a.m. Vasquez-Espinoza was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued a motor vehicle summons and released after posting bail.

Eric Bryant, 47, of Tobyhanna, Pa., was arrested after he was found to have two active warrants following a traffic stop for maintenance of lamps on the 100 block of Stockton Street on April 18. One warrant was from Mahwah Municipal Court for $212, and the other was from Alpine Municipal Court for $86. Bryant was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and issued motor vehicle summonses with a pending court date prior to being released on his own recognizance by Mahwah and posting bail for Alpine.

A man reported that sometime between 4 p.m. on April 17 and 2 p.m. on April 19, two 3 and 1/2 foot cast iron "Griffin" planters worth about $750 each were stolen from his front steps.

A woman reported that several miscellaneous items worth a total of $303 were stolen from her home, and $300 worth of unlawful charges were made to her credit card.

Tameka C. Walden-Johnson, 37, of Princeton, was arrested for having an active warrant out of Princeton Municipal Court in the amount of $150 following a traffic stop for a cell phone violation on the 100 block of Stockton Street on April 19. Walden-Johnson was taken to police headquarters, where she was processed, issued motor vehicle summonses and released on her own recognizance with a pending court date.

Walter Gomez-Gomez, 20, of Princeton, was found to be in possession of a credit card not issued to him during a criminal investigation on the 200 block of Nassau Street on April 20. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued a summons with a pending court date and released on his own recognizance.
