Cop Charged With Harassment After Incident At Mercer Co. School

Rudy Lopez verbally threatened two people on June 15 in front of Lalor Elementary School in Hamilton, officials said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — An officer from the Trenton Police Department was charged with two counts of harassment after an incident in front a public school in Hamilton, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s office said.

Rudy Lopez, 36, a Hamilton resident, verbally threatened two people on June 15, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., in front of Lalor Elementary School, the MCPO said.

According to the complaint, Lopez verbally threatened the two people, specifically making threatening comments and causing alarm.

Lopez joined Trenton police in 2021, in a class of officers hired under former police director Sheilah Coley, reported The Trentonian.
