Only incumbents Heather Howard and Lance Liverman have announced their candidacies so far, according to the Princeton Packet.

It appears Princeton Council Members Heather H. Howard and Lance Liverman will be running unopposed in this year’s Democratic Primary.

With the Democratic Party set to endorse its candidates on March 22 and the deadline to register to run in this year’s primary coming up on March 30, Howard and Liverman are the only Democrats to announce their candidacy, according to the Princeton Packet.

Howard and Liverman announced their candidacies in December.

All six members of Council are Democrats, but they are split along old Township and Borough lines, making the Democratic Primary the most hotly contested race in Princeton annually.

Democrats not aligned with Mayor Liz Lempert tend to fall in line with Councilwoman Jenny Crumiller. Howard and Liverman are aligned with Lempert.
