Counterfeit Money Used At Businesses In Palmer Square: Princeton Police

Counterfeit $50 bills were passed at two different businesses on Monday, police said on Wednesday.

PRINCETON, NJ — Counterfeit $50 bills were passed at local businesses in Palmer Square on Monday afternoon, Princeton police said on Wednesday.

Two people made two separate purchases using counterfeit $50 bills at Jazam’s in Palmer Square on Monday, Aug. 21. The first purchase was at 2 p.m., and the other came two hours later, at 4 p.m. As a result, she received $72.28 in cash as change, and $28.72 in merchandise, for a total loss of $100.

The people involved in this incident is described as a light-skinned black male in his late teens to early 20's with a slender build, and a black heavyset female with her hair pulled back.

Around the same time, a counterfeit $50.00 bill was passed at Kitchen Kapers in Palmer Square. That incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. when two people purchased an item for $8.54, paid with the bogus bill and received $41.46 change.

The people involved in this incident are described as follows: Hispanic female, 5’4," with dark hair in a ponytail and tattoos on her forearms, wearing a light orange top; and a black male who appeared to be about 15 years old, standing 5'7" with short cropped hair and wearing blue gym shorts.
