Disciplinary Action Filed Against Lawrenceville-Based Charity
Cease-and-desist orders have been issued to United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks, by the Pennsylvania Department of State.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — The Pennsylvania Department of State (DOS) has filed disciplinary action against a Lawrenceville-based charitable organization.
Cease-and-desist orders have been issued to the United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks. The disciplinary action was filed in December, said Leigh M. Chapman, Pennsylvania’s Acting Secretary of State.
The organization is not allowed to solicit donations or conduct fundraising activities until they come into compliance with the Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, Chapman said.

According to the cease-and-desist order, the United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks is not registered with the Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations and/or has failed to submit all required documentation to the department.
The organization cannot fundraise until all documents have been furnished to the department. A fine of up to $1,000 will be imposed for violation of the act and an additional penalty of $100 per day will be imposed for each day the violation continues, the department said.
