Driver Charged With Vehicular Assault After Serious Mercer Co. Crash
First responders had to extricate three people after the crash, who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A Millstone man was charged with vehicular assault and other offenses after a serious crash that left three people hospitalized, West Windsor Police said.
Romulo Alfredo Menchu Aguilar was charged with reckless driving, open container of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle, and two counts of vehicular assault.
On June 17, Aguilar was driving south on Old Trenton Road in the area of Pennington Drive, when he veered and entered the path of another vehicle traveling north, police said. The collision caused extensive damage and entrapped the drivers and passengers of both vehicles, authorities said.

First responders had to extricate three people – Aguilar, the passenger in his vehicle and the driver of the other car, police said. They were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where all three suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The road was shut for four hours following the crash.

During the investigation, police said they found Aguilar was DWI. He was taken to Mercer County Corrections pending a future Mercer County Superior Court Appearance.
