Bonnie Watson Coleman Wins NJ-12 Congress Seat Again, AP Says
Bonnie Watson Coleman has won reelection, fending off a challenge from Darius Mayfield, the AP predicted.

PRINCETON, NJ — Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has been re-elected to New Jersey's 12th Congressional District, according to the Associated Press.
The AP declared Watson Coleman the victor around 11 p.m. Tuesday. With 321 of 540 precincts reporting, Watson Coleman held 84,636 votes to Republican challenger Darius Mayfield's 53,353.

Watson Coleman is the first Black woman to represent New Jersey in Congress. She was first elected in 2014, when she defeated Republican Alieta Eck to succeed the retiring Rush Holt. Watson Coleman is seeking her fifth term in the house of representatives.
Born in New Brunswick, Mayfield describes himself as a businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and activist. His campaign motto is “Not Black, Not white, American,” and he’s seeking his first term.
