Princeton 2022 Election: Who's On The Ballot, Where To Vote

The general election is Tuesday. Check out our voter guide before you head out to cast your ballot.

PRINCETON, NJ — The 2022 general election is just around the corner. Mercer County has given Princeton residents many options to turn in their ballots. Here’s what you need to know about voting in the Municipality.

Who's On The Ballot

Two incumbents are running for two open seats on the Council. Councilwomen Michelle Pirone Lambros and Mia Sacks are seeking reelection and they face no challengers.

Meanwhile, five candidates are looking to fill three open seats on the Princeton Board of Education. Three incumbents — Debbie Bronfeld, Dafna Kendal and Susan Kanter, are being challenged by two newcomers. Here's the list of candidates:

Princeton voters will also get to cast a ballot for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. In the 12ths district, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman is facing a challenge from Republican candidate Darius Mayfield.

HOW TO VOTE

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. There are three ways to turn in your ballot for the 2022 general election.

Vote By Mail: All registered voters are eligible to request a vote-by-mail ballot. If you would like to receive your ballot by mail, you must request your ballot not less than seven days before an election. Otherwise, you must get your vote-by-mail ballot in-person from your county clerk by 3 p.m. the day before Election Day . Voters have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to return their ballot to the Board of Elections in person or deposit it in one of their county’s authorized ballot drop boxes. The secured mail-in ballot drop box in Princeton is located at:

  • Princeton Municipal Building – 400 Witherspoon St., Princeton, NJ, 08540 (Front of building, facing Witherspoon)
  • Princeton University Wawa/Dinky Station- 152 Alexander St., Princeton, NJ 08540 (On the circle)

You can also mail your ballot; it must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Early In-Person Voting: New Jersey passed a law in 2021 that allows residents to vote early during a nine-day period before Election Day. For the 2022 general election, the early voting period takes place from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday). Vote In-Person On Election Day: The 2022 general election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Johnson Park School, 285 Rosedale Road, Follow Signs: District 3
  • Princeton Municipal Building, 400 Witherspoon St., Community Room: District 5, 22
  • Hook & Ladder Fire House, 27 N. Harrison St.: District 7, 8, 13, 18
  • Community Park School, 372 Witherspoon St., Art Room: District 9, 11, 21
  • Princeton Engine Company No 1, 13 Chestnut St.: District 10,12
  • Princeton First Aid Squad, 237 N. Harrison St.: District 14, 20
  • Littlebrook School, 39 Magnolia Lane, Back Gate-Gym: District 15,16
  • Riverside School, 58 Riverside Dr., West, Follow Signs: District 17, 19

If you're unsure about your polling location, click here. Provisional ballots will be available at the polling location in the event that the mail-in ballots were not received and the registered voter would like to vote in this election.
