Newcomers Win Seats On Princeton Board Of Education

The results are in for this year's elections in Princeton.

PRINCETON, NJ — Three new members were elected to the Princeton Public School District Board of Education Tuesday night. Beth Behrend, Jessica Deutsch and Michele Tuck-Ponder won the six-person race for three open seats, according to the unofficial results.

Behrend won with 3,199 votes, followed by Deutsch with 2,983 and Tuck-Ponder with 2,773 votes, according to the results provided by the Princeton Clerk's Office. Jenny Ludmer, Julie Ramirez and James Fields were also running for the three seats that were open when none of the incumbents filed to run for re-election.

Leticia Fraga and David Cohen, both Democrats, ran unopposed in their quest to join Princeton Council. Cohen earned 5,604 votes, while Fraga collected 5,570 votes.

A total of 7,109 of the 19,717 registered voters in Princton came out for Tuesday night's elections. Results remain unofficial until certified.
