PRINCETON, NJ — A Princeton local was threatened to pay money or unflattering photos of them would be shared on Facebook, police report.
The theft by extortion was reported at 7:23 p.m. on Tuesday when a Province Line Road resident said they were contacted through Facebook messenger.
The resident said someone tried to extort them out of $500 by threatening to release unflattering photos of them to all of their family and friends, Princeton Police said.

Instead of paying, the resident deactivated their Facebook account and did not suffer any monetary loss, police said.
