Fashion Show to Benefit Local Breast Cancer Organization on Oct. 11, 2013

The Lord & Taylor “In the PINK” Fashion Show to benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Center at YWCA Princeton is scheduled for 6:30 Friday evening, October 11th, 2013. Tickets are available at the YWCA or on its website.

Standing arm-in-arm with those diagnosed with breast cancer for more than 40 years, the Breast Cancer Resource Center is recognized as a leading provider of support and educational services to those diagnosed with breast cancer across central New Jersey.

The evening’s proceeds generate much needed funds for the Center. “Our focus is helping those with breast cancer in their recovery, first and foremost,” shares Diane Hasili, YWCA Princeton spokesperson. “Anyone, anywhere with breast cancer is invited to utilize our services and programs. Our support groups, wigs & prosthesis boutique, fitness & wellness programs, and outreach education initiatives are pivotal in breast cancer education and the breast cancer recovery process.”

The fashion show is particularly poignant. It is a reminder that breast cancer does not discriminate. It affects women and men, young and old, those with high risk factors and those with no family history of breast cancer. Guests are encouraged to wear pink providing solidarity and strength to those diagnosed with breast cancer.

This year’s Lord & Taylor “in the PINK” Fashion Show promises to be its best ever show ever in partnership with key sponsors Lord & Taylor, The Durst Firm, LLC, and Princeton Healthcare System. Funds raised at the show and generous donations received throughout the year are used to support a vast array of services and programs.

Event co-chairs Cheri Durst and Jodi Inverso are committed to increasing awareness of the Breast Cancer Resource Center and its services. Both are advocates for breast health and breast awareness education in the community and know the many challenges affecting those diagnosed and their families.
