Hamilton Local's Film Selected For Garden State Film Festival

The film "I Ain't Gonna Suffer" will screen at the 2019 Garden State Film Festival located in Asbury Park.

HAMILTON, NJ — The film "I Ain't Gonna Suffer" directed by Hamilton resident, Jennifer Klockner will screen at the 2019 Garden State Film Festival located in Asbury Park.

The film’s subject consists of cycles. Each cycle attests to a specific line of a poem entitled "I Ain’t Gonna Suffer."

"This poem is a personal piece in which I examine the possibility, opportunity, and capability I have to love myself; learning from the love I see around me," Klockner stated. "Working in a limited space, I have created individual detailed drawings for each frame. I have created ten, six foot long zoetrope strips that were then filmed stop motion."

Each of the strips include different techniques of making including, drawing, painting, ink, pastel and 3D elements. In addition to stop motion animation, a compilation of archival footage is also included.

"This film’s intention was to explore the idea of the obsolete and building off aesthetics of the past. The content is an obvious exploration of my own life in an effort to learn about how my life should continue to grow, how healthy it can and should be," Klockner stated.
