Identity Theft Costs Woman $1,500: Princeton Police
Princeton police release their activity report.
PRINCETON, NJ — Someone stole a woman’s identity at a local Wal-Mart and proceeded to rack up a nearly $1,500 bill the same day, according to police. The woman told Princeton police that she received a bill for a Walmart credit card that she never opened in the amount of $1,494.53.
She had gone shopping at the Walmart on Nassau Park Boulevard on July 27. The fraudulent card that she reported to police was used at the same Walmart on the same day, police said.
It was one of the items that showed up on the Princeton Police Department’s weekly log posted on the town’s website. All incidents are merely accusations, and those accused are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
