Intruder Reported In 2 Princeton Homes On Same Day: Police
Other residents in the area also reported hearing suspicious noises outside or in their home in the same time frame.

PRINCETON, NJ — There were three separate incidents in which Princeton residents reported that they believed a suspicious person may have been in their home on the same day earlier this month, Princeton Police said on Wednesday. In two incidents, the resident actually confronted an intruder, while the third caller reported hearing a noise, but no intruder was actually seen.
Two incidents took place on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, and the third was reported on Princeton-Kingston Road. All three incidents took place on May 13.
The first incident was on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue, at about 2 a.m. A woman reported finding an unknown man inside her home. When confronted, he fled on foot on Prospect Avenue towards Princeton Kingston Road.

The next incident took place at about 4:45 a.m. on the 900 block of Princeton-Kingston Road. A man reported he was sleeping in an upstairs bedroom when he was awakened by a suspicious noise. He said he immediately got out of bed and went downstairs.
The home was entered through an unlocked kitchen window, and the intruder immediately fled the house after he was found. Nothing was stolen or damaged.

There was no description of the man provided in either instance.
Then, between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., a man on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue said his wife heard someone in the home, but assumed it was the caller. However, the caller was asleep at the time. Nothing was stolen, but police were asked to check the house. There were no signs of forced entry.
Additionally, another resident on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue reported that on May 12, a sleeping family member heard the sound of metal shaking outside their home. The caller investigated the noise and discovered the neighbor’s side gate to be opened.
Further investigation revealed the neighbors were home and did not hear anything. There was no entry into the residence.
Finally, on May 11, a resident on the 1000 block of Princeton-Kingston Road reported that he found several empty jewelry boxes at the rear of his property while he was gardening.
The caller recalled a canvass by Safe Neighborhood officers advising of a recent burglary where two jewelry boxes were stolen. Several valuables were recovered.
