Katie Welsh is returning in November for the second concert in her Fall Cabaret Series at the Arts Council of Princeton.
Katie, local to the Princeton area, offers a unique evening of song in the format of what she calls an “informative cabaret,” a concept she first explored as part of her senior thesis at Princeton University. As she described it in a recent interview in Everything Sondheim, “Unlike more traditional cabarets, where the patter between songs is more personal and anecdotal, …(the patter) is more informative and educational — I quote scholars and journalists, touch on the history of musical theater…, lead fun moments of musical analysis and really weave … stories together in a new way.”
On Saturday, November 17th at 7:30, Katie will bring us New York on Broadway. She will be focusing on the role and representation of New York City in Broadway musicals with insights and songs from a range of shows including The New Yorkers, On the Town, Sweet Charity, Company, 42nd Street, Annie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and more.

In addition to venues and private events in the Princeton area, Katie has also been seen in New York at Feinstein's/54 Below, Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, the Metropolitan Room, BroadwayCon, and the Princeton Club of New York.
