Ewing Township 'Bobcat' Sighting Was Just A House Cat
The cat, which appeared to be either a bobcat or a mountain lion, was spotted Thursday afternoon.

The state Department of Environmental Protection says the large "cat-like" animal spotted in Ewing Township that police initially believed to be a lion or a bobcat was just a house cat.
The animal was spotted near Scotch Road, and New Jersey State Wildlife officials were contacted to help police and local animal control.

DEP Spokesman Larry Hajna told 6ABC Friday that "we don't have mountain lions in New Jersey." He also noted that bobcats have short tails, and the animal in the images "clearly has a long tail."
