Lightning Strike Causes Transformer Explosion: Video
Princeton Police shared a video of the aftermath of a lightning strike that caused a transformer explosion in town Wednesday night.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Police shared a video of the aftermath of a lightning strike that caused a transformer explosion in town Wednesday night following severe thunderstorms.
The strike caused a transformer to explode which in turn severed power lines which caught on fire, Princeton Police said.
A portion of Route 206 was closed for repairs. The roadway has since been reopened. Hutchinson Road was also closed and remains closed as of midnight.

Princeton residents in the area had lost power Wednesday night. It has since been restored to all but five residents, according to PSE&G.
