Man Arrested, $7,500 In Cocaine Seized In Mercer County: Cops

Raymond Brooks was arrested following a two-month investigation on Monday.

One person was arrested and $7,500 in cocaine was seized following a two month-long investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said on Wednesday

Raymond Brooks, 50, is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was the target of the investigation, and was seen getting into his car outside his home at about 7:15 p.m. Monday night, Onofri said. Detectives stopped his car and arrested him without incident.

A search warrant was simultaneously executed at his apartment, where officers seized 70 grams of powder cocaine, five grams of crack cocaine and $826 in cash, Onofri said.

The arrest and raid were conducted by officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Hamilton and Trenton police, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit. After his arrest, Brooks was released pending future court appearances.
