'Meet The Dancers' Event In Princeton Next Week

Meet members of this year's American Repertory Ballet company and learn about the upcoming season at this event.

PRINCETON, NJ — American Repertory Ballet will host a free “Meet the Dancers” event on Friday, Sept. 15, 5:15 p.m. at Princeton Ballet School. The school is located at 301 North Harrison Street, in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey’s Supermarket. The public will have the chance to meet Artistic Director Douglas Martin, Resident Choreographer and Ballet Master Mary Barton, as well as the 2017-18 company of American Repertory Ballet.

This year’s company dancers are: Shaye Firer, Jacopo Jannelli, Austap Klymko, Aldeir Monteiro, Toleu Mukanov, Mattia Pallozzi, Emily Parker, Erikka Reenstierna-Cates, Lily Saito, Giulia Settimo, Anna Porter Wilkes-Davis, Journy Wilkes-Davis and Nanako Yamamoto.

Martin will talk about the upcoming season, which begins with “Woman of Dance: Celebrating the Work of Mary Barton.” There will be two performances of this show, on Sept. 22 and 23, 7:30 p.m., at Rider University's Bart Luedeke Center Theater.

The event is part of the ballet school’s On Pointe Series, which was launched in 2010 in the ballet school’s attempt to make ballet and related topics more accessible to the community. The series is held monthly, and includes guest speakers, lecture demonstrations, company performance previews and panel discussions. The events are free and open to the public.
