Mercer County Fugitive Arrested In Bordentown Hotel Room: Sheriff
James Smith was arrested Thursday morning in connection with an attempted bank robbery that took place two days earlier.

A fugitive from Mercer County was arrested in hotel room on Route 130 in Bordentown early Thursday morning, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
James Smith, 22, of Hamilton Township, is charged with robbery in connection with an attempted robbery at a bank branch on the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue in Trenton on Halloween.
He was arrested without incident by a team from the Mercer County Sheriff s Office and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force Thursday morning and turned over to Trenton police, pending a court appearance.

“Once again, our collaboration with the US Marshals Service enables us to find criminals wherever they hide,” Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler said. “This apprehension marks another successful criminal arrest made by our joint task force this year.”
