Mercer County School District Returns To Mask Optional Starting Monday
For the week of June 6-10 and moving forward, West Windsor - Plainsboro Regional School District will move to mask optional.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Beginning Monday, the West Windsor - Plainsboro Regional School District will move to mask optional, owing to an increase in COVID-19 case totals in the area.
For the week of June 6-10 and moving forward, all students, staff and offices will mask optional, district officials said.
Mask will still be required by all passengers on buses, regardless of vaccination status.

Federal health officials recently recommend masking for indoor and public spaces in 13 New Jersey counties, including Mercer.
The agency already recommended indoor masking in Sussex, Morris, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Cape May, Burlington, Camden, Salem and Gloucester Counties.

The CDC recommends masking in counties with "high" COVID-19 community levels — a metric based on hospitalizations and case rates that the agency adopted in late February.
However, the CDC’s mask recommendations do not trigger state mandates.
Two other Mercer County school districts, Princeton and Trenton, recently reinstated mask mandates.
