Mercer County Sheriff's Officer Promoted to Sgt.

Joseph Mendez was promoted this week.

Mercer County Sheriff’s Officer Joseph Mendez has been promoted to the rank of sergeant, Sheriff Jack Kemler said this week.

Mendez is a seven-year veteran the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. He has been assigned most recently to the Courts Division. He has also served with the Sheriff’s Airport Unit. Mendez is a 2009 graduate of the Mercer County Police Academy. Prior to becoming an officer, he served with the civilian support staff of the Sheriff’s Office.

He has received numerous commendations and recognition throughout his career.

“Joe Mendez’s promotion to the rank of Sergeant is well deserved and well earned,” Kemler said. “I am pleased his name rose to the top of the candidates list, and I admire his dedication to duty.”
