MERCER COUNTY, NJ — All of you who have been waiting patiently for this weekend's St Patrick's Day parade in Hamilton Township, will have to wait for another week.
Due to stormy weather in the forecast, the Parade Committee announced it was postponing the parade. The parade, which was originally scheduled for March 12, is now expected to take place on Saturday, March 19. However, the celebration at the Hibernian Club on March 12 will go on as scheduled, organizers said.
The National Weather Service is predicting a possible mix of rain and snow on Saturday, mainly before 4 p.m.

In its 35th year, the Original St. Patrick's Day parade in Hamilton is a popular tradition that started in 1985. The group initially consisted of four local Irish-American tavern owners, but slowly grew to include those with expertise to organize the event.
This year, the parade committee will honor longtime resident Gerard (Jerry) Sheridan as Grand Marshal and Nicole Brown as Miss. St. Patrick. Both were selected two years ago but were unable to serve in their roles due to the cancelations.
