School District In Mercer Co. Is Hiring College Students As Substitute Teachers
If you're a college student, here's your chance to teach when classes are on break.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ – As the nationwide teacher shortage continues, the Hamilton Township School District is looking to hire college students as substitute teachers.
College students can join as substitute teachers when their classes are on break. To be eligible, they need to have 60 credits minimum.
The school district is looking for substitute teachers from mid-December to mid-January, during winter break; spring break and from mid-May through the end of the school year in June.

Teacher shortage is a nationwide issue with roughly 300,000 educators leaving their jobs between Feb. 2020 and May 2022, according to August 2022 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reported by the Wall Street Journal.
