Municipality Of Princeton: Volunteer To Help At The East Coast Greenway Alliance Ride
Individuals are needed to help set up the site and run it starting on Saturday early afternoon until Sunday morning.

The New York to Philadelphia Greenway Ride is looking for some friendly and helpful Princeton area individuals to volunteer with them at the YMCA Princeton, the overnight location for this year’s ride. Riders will arrive in Princeton and head to the YMCA to collect their gear for the night. Some riders will camp at the YMCA while others will be staying in local area hotels. Individuals are needed to help set up the site and run it starting on Saturday early afternoon until Sunday morning.

A brief description of volunteer positions
- Camp set-up: Setting up tents, marking off-field for where riders will set up their tents, helping to organize the site.
- Gear – Unloading/uploading rider’s overnight gear (bags) from event vehicles and organizing and distributing to riders upon arrival and departure.
- Traffic Control – Monitoring incoming/outgoing rider traffic and directing them to the bike parking, check-in and the route
- Bike Parking – Setting up and breaking down bike parking. Placing rider’s bikes on racks when they arrive at the Y and giving rider’s bikes to them on Sunday morning. Monitoring bike parking area to keep it safe and functional.
- Hydration service – Monitoring and distributing water and Gatorade station for riders who will be filling up their water bottles. Restocking water and mixing up new igloo containers of Gatorade.
- Breakfast service – Serving and restocking breakfast food to riders on Sunday morning.
- Site breakdown – Breaking down the site on Sunday morning after riders have left for day 2.
Positions & shift times:
- 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- 3:00pm – 6:00pm
- 5:30pm - 8:30pm
- 3:00pm – 7:00pm
- 5:00pm – 9:00pm
- 7:00pm – 11:00pm
- 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- 3:00pm – 7:00pm
What if I can’t commit to 3 or 4 hours? The shift times are based on the event’s needs. However, it is understood that you have other commitments in your life, too. Note what time you are available and it will be worked out accordingly.
