New, Extended Trailer Released For ‘Oppenheimer’ Which Was Filmed In Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ — The doomsday clock continues to tick in the second trailer of Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.”

In the newest trailer released recently, the focus is on Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer and his colleagues, who grapple with the gravity of what he’s creating.

With Nazi Germany months away from creating a bomb of its own, Oppenheimer and Lt. Gen. Leslie Richard Groves, played by Matt Damon, set out to recruit scientists for the Manhattan Project.

However, Oppenheimer has a profound and deep insight into what he’s creating and what it can do.

The new trailer offers an extended look at Damon’s character Groves and the Manhattan Project. The trailer also includes black-and-white shots of what appears to be a post-war hearing, potentially the 1954 investigation into Oppenheimer.

The script of the movie is based on the Pulitzer-winning book, "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer," by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin.

The movie will open in theatres on July 21.
