Princeton Appoints New Police Chief
Chief Nicholas Sutter retired on Wednesday after 25 years of service.

PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton Police Department on Thursday announced the appointment of a new chief of police.
Christopher Morgan will now be leading the police department after the retirement of Chief Nicholas Sutter on Wednesday. Sutter served for 25 years. Lt. John Bucchere has now been promoted to Captain.
“I am both excited and humbled by this opportunity and look forward to working alongside the men and women of this organization as well as our community partners. Together we will continue to develop and grow and provide professional and community focused policing," Morgan told Patch in a statement.

Morgan began his career in 1998 after graduating from the Trenton Police Academy. He is a graduate of the College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science degree and holds a Master’s from Seton Hall University.
He is also a graduate of Session 239 of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Morgan had earlier served as Acting Chief of the former Princeton Township Police Department before it was consolidated to one.
The police department said it would release brief bios and a video in lieu of a swearing-in ceremony.
