New Princeton Chapter For Association Of Women In Construction

PRINCETON, NJ — The leading professional association for women in the construction industry, announced the charter of their newest chapter in Princeton.

The Princeton chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction officially chartered on May 12. This is the NAWIC’s 389th chapter.

The group of over 40 new members from the Princeton area met virtually in March for their organizational meeting, during which they selected the official name, and adopted the national bylaws and standing rules.

During this official meeting, the group also elected the following their officers and Board of Directors.

Here are elected officials:

• President: Suchita Shah, AIA – Kamlesh Shah Designs
• President-Elect: Jessie Guo, Golden Crown Contractors
• Vice-President: Michele George Callum, Construction Risk Partners
• Recording Secretary: Lynn Katz, WillScot
• Corresponding Secretary: Emily Clancy, Torcon Construction
• Treasurer: Jill Wicherski, Bancroft Construction

Board of Directors are Erica Braxton, Plumbers Local 24 & Iron Workers Local 11; Victoria Airgood, Esq – Hill Wallack LLP; and AnnMarie Keane, Construction Risk Partners.

“One of the things that sets NAWIC apart from other associations is that we are such a diverse group of women who believe in the mission of strengthening and amplifying the success of ALL women in the construction industry,” NAWIC National President Anne Pfleger said in a statement.

“The chartering of the Princeton, NJ chapter brings new members to the Association with knowledge, fresh perspective, strategic thinking, and diverse experiences that will further ‘Connect-Collaborate-Construct’ NAWIC and its members for the betterment our industry’s future.”

Princeton, NJ Chapter President Suchita Shah said she proud of the organization for “supporting and amplying” diverse voices.

“Our Chapter is proud to be uniting such a diverse and energetic group of women across New Jersey through this initiative to trade experiences and networks, advocate for a healthy and successful professional life, and celebrate the remarkable work of women in the construction industry,” Shah said in a media release.
