New Wawa Opening In Princeton, With Celebration

The new store marks Wawa's 40th anniversary in the Princeton community, and 33rd anniversary of its partnership with Eden Autism Services.

Wawa is celebrating the grand opening of its brand new Princeton Store, located next to the Princeton Train Station, on 152 Alexander St., with a sneak preview for media and local officials on Nov. 20.

The event will happen a day before the store opens to the public, and a grand opening celebration planned for Friday at 10 a.m.

The new store marks Wawa’s 40th anniversary in the Princeton community, and 33rd anniversary of its partnership with Eden Autism Services.

The new store is part of Princeton University’s Arts & Transit Project that is still under construction and will replace the legacy Wawa store at Princeton University, company officials said.

The grand opening of Wawa’s newest Princeton store will feature Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert, Princeton University officials, Wawa and local officials as well as Wawa’s Mascots Wally Goose & Shorti, for the milestone occasion. The event will proceed as follows:

• Wawa’s Director of Store Operations, Jim Shortall, will discuss Wawa’s culture and values

• Wawa will host a Wawa through the ages parade, visually highlighting Wawa’s key milestones

• Wawa’s President and CEO Chris Gheysens will speak about Wawa’s 40th anniversary in Princeton, and future economic impact in the area

• Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert will speak about the significance of Wawa to the local community

• Eden CEO Peter Bell will speak about Wawa’s impact to the field of employment opportunities for adults with autism.
