New York Yankees: Brief Review

               The New York Yankees have been quietly productive this year in a division where a win is crucial. Derek Jeter has only twelve weeks and six days left as a player in a Yankee uniform. As the season approaches and will soon surpass the half way mark, the Yankees are hoping for one last run with Derek Jeter. Although, the Toronto Blue Jays have achieved far more than what others expected, making the division a free-for-all.

New York Yankees Draft Grade:                                      C+

The Reason Why: Without a first round draft pick, the Yankees were not able to add a top prospect that would enable them to fill a hole at a crucial position.

Top Prospect: Gary Sanchez is currently a catcher at double A Trenton Thunder in the Eastern league. Signed by the Yankees on July 2nd, 2009, Gary Sanchez has been most productive on the defensive end. Although he is not classified as a " Light hitter, " his average is sturdy for a catcher at the level of double A. Therefore, I further expect Gary Sanchez to hit .250 at the major league level with his strikeout to walk ration as 6:1.
