NJ Cop Suspended After His Baby Daughter Dies In Mercer: MCPO
An investigation continues in the wake of the 3-month-old girl's death, authorities said.

A New Jersey police officer has been suspended now that the death of his 3-month-old daughter is under investigation, authorities said this weekend.
Daniel Bannister, who became a Ewing police officer in 2017, was recently suspended with pay as the investigation into the death of his infant daughter, Hailey Bannister, continues, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
No cause of death has been declared.

Hailey Bannister died on Dec. 13, according to a GoFundMe page created for her mother, Catherine Bannister.
The page, called "Hope for Hailey Rose," said Hailey suffered a catastrophic brain injury on Dec. 5 and was being cared for in a pediatric intensive care unit.

The page, which has been closed to donations, did note that she was not expected to recover.
The page was later updated to say she died while surrounded by her family. More than $17,000 was raised.
