Pat Godin Presentation with DECOY Exhibition D&R Greenway: Champions - Best of the Best

Pat Godin, thirteen times Best in World, will speak on his life and his fine art decoys Friday, November 8, at D&R Greenway, from 6 to 7 p.m..  Free and open to the public, a reception precedes this event, at 5:30 To register: rsvp@drgreenway.org or 609-924-4646. 

D&R Greenway’s newest exhibition of fine-art decoys: “Champions, the Best of the Best”, from their Jay Vawter collection opens November 1, featuring prize-winning work by woodcarvers whose art is prized, literally, throughout the world.  This collection may be viewed during business hours of business days in the land trust’s library through April 4.

This legendary collection was donated by Jay Vawter to D&R Greenway.  Carvers in this exhibition include Jimmy Vizier, who was Pat Godin’s father-in-law; Greg Pedersen; Jim Sprankle; Elmer Crowell; Bob Guge; Victor Paroyan and Lemuel Ward.  The last-named is one of the legendary Ward brothers of Crisfield, Maryland.  Their decoy and decorative bird art is the focus of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art.
