Plant Your Produce: East Windsor Begins Community Garden Program
The Community Garden program gives residents the opportunity to rent a plot of land and plant their own fruits and vegetables.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — The East Windsor Community Garden program has opened for the year. The Townships Community Garden provides residents with the opportunity to rent a plot of land to plant their own fruits and vegetables.
The Community Garden is located on Disbrow Hill Road open space property, adjacent to the Disbrow Hill playing fields and across from Etra Lake Park. Gardeners will be assigned a plot identified by a numbering system.
“The successful Community Garden, which is an exciting opportunity for local residents to reap the benefits of planting their own produce, is further affirmation of East Windsor’s commitment to a greener environment and sustainable community," Mayor Janice S. Mironov said. "The Community Garden is an environmentally friendly initiative which offers unique benefits and educational opportunities to residents of all ages to learn basic agricultural principles and to share valued community goals.”
