Princeton Council Paves Way for Bike Lanes on Hamilton Avenue
The proposal to replace car parking passed by a 5-1 vote, according to the Princeton Packet.

Princeton Council took the first step to replace parking for cars with bicycle lanes on Hamilton Avenue between Harrison Street and Snowden Lane this week, the Princeton Packet reports.
Council passed the ordinance on first reading by a vote of 5-1, according to the report.
The lone dissenting vote came from Councilman Patrick Simon, who spoke with residents in the area and learned that most of them oppose the change, according to the report.

Many residents in the area have driveways, and parking will be permitted on side streets, Mayor Liz Lempert said in the report.
Second reading is scheduled for Jan. 26.
