Princeton Deer Hunt To Begin Feb.3

The 2020 deer hunt will be held on private and public properties in Princeton beginning on or around Feb. 3 and continue through March 15.

PRINCETON, NJ — The 2020 deer hunt will be held on private and public properties in Princeton beginning on or around Feb. 3 and continue through March 15.

Princeton's agent White Buffalo Inc. filed for a permit with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife to conduct lethal deer removal and deer management activities.

The following are properties in Princeton where hunting will take place include:

  • Gulick Farm
  • Mercer County Herrontown Woods Arboretum
  • Pretty Brook/Great Road
  • Rosedale – Green Acres
  • Historic Overlook and Stony Brook/Quaker Road (Block 9801, Lots 4, 9, and 10 – approximately 38 acres located between Mercer Street and Route 206)
  • Woodfield Reservation (Block 1701, Lots 4 and 8, and Block 1801, Lots 1, 4 and 5 only)
  • Mountain Lakes Reserve (Portions of Block 5201, Lots 2 and 29.14 only)
  • Van Dyke Woods/Smoyer Park
  • Mt. Lucas Property (Mt. Lucas Road/Route 206, Block 4201, Lot 22)

Hunting will take place between 4 and 9 p.m.

The Princeton Police Department will provide security by directly supervising the removal activities and patrolling the parks while removal operations take place.
