Princeton Democratic Municipal Committee Makes Decision on Candidates

The committee held its secret vote Tuesday night.

Princeton, NJ -- Princeton Councilwoman Jenny Crumiller and Democratic candidate Tim Quinn won the right to use the Princeton Democratic Municipal Committee’s slogan during a secret vote by the committee Tuesday night, Planet Princeton reports.

Crumiller, Quinn, Letitia Fraga and Anne Neumann are running for the Democratic Party’s nominations in the November elections for two council seats.

Municipal Chairman Peter Wolanin will recommend all four candidates appear in the Democratic column in the June 7 primary in the order in which they finished in Tuesday night’s voting, according to the report. The order of finish was Crumiller, Quinn, Fraga and Neumann.

Wolanin said that over the last three years, the committee has moved to a system in which all qualified Democratic candidates are included on the ballot, according to the report. This has not been the case in the past in Princeton, and other local municipalities, which continue to use the old system.

The final decision will be made by Mercer County Democratic Chairwoman and State Assemblywoman Liz Muoio. She takes into account the opinions of the Princeton Democratic Municipal Committee and the Princeton Community Democratic Organization.
