PRINCETON, NJ — The day commuters in Princeton have been waiting for is almost here. The Dinky Rail service line will resume on Sunday, May 12.
The service had been shutdown since October 2018. The restoration is just in time for the Memorial Day holiday and about two weeks ahead of NJ Transit's target date.
"This is very welcome news, especially for commuters, and will be a fantastic Mothers Day present for all of Princeton!" Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert previously said.

Along with the Dinky line, the Atlantic City Rail Line (ACRL) will also resume on May 12.
The Dinky was initially shutdown to allow NJ Transit to install the Positive Train Control (PTC) equipment on their rail fleet. As a result the rail service was replaced by buses on weekdays and weekends that had been estimated to last through mid-January.
