Princeton Local Among 2 Charged With DWI

Also a check mailed from a public postal box on South Harrison Street was stolen, altered and cashed, police say.

PRINCETON, NJ — A Princeton local was among two people to be charged with driving while intoxicated in town, according to the police blotter.

On Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported an erratic driver to police. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop of the reported vehicle on Leigh Avenue, police said.

The driver, Tuwmaa Parker, 31, of Princeton was found to be driving while intoxicated. Parker was placed under arrest and later released to a sober adult.

On Oct. 21 at 12:58 a.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on State Road for speeding, the driver, Juan G. Morales, 22, of Trenton was found to be driving while intoxicated. Morales was placed under arrest and later released to a sober adult.

On Oct. 23: The victim reported that a check they mailed from a public postal box on South Harrison Street was stolen, altered, and cashed by someone. The amount of the check was changed from $726.78 to $8,510.99.

On Oct. 24 at 2:10 p.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Stockton Street for fictitious plates, the driver, Emely Sanchez-Torres, 19, of Hamilton was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest out of Chesterfield totaling $1,100. Sanchez-Gomez was placed under arrest and later released on her own recognizance.

On Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.: The victim reported someone stole their wallet and its contents from a bag they left momentarily unattended while at a rummage sale on Mercer Street. The monetary loss was $137.50.

On Oct. 26 at 3:14 p.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Wiggins Street for failing to signal, the driver, Carter Thomas, 28, of Somerville was found to have an active warrant out of Branchburg for $1,000. Thomas was placed under arrest and later released after posting bail.

On Oct. 27: The victim reported that sometime between midnight and 2 a.m. someone stole their unattended wallet and its contents from a party on Prospect Avenue. The victim stated that their stolen credit cards were then used shortly thereafter at the Princeton University store and Wawa in Princeton to make unauthorized purchases totaling $187.05.
