Princeton Man Scammed Out Of Over $4,000: Police
Princeton police release their activity report.
PRINCETON, NJ — Police are investigating an incident in which a man was scammed out of over $4,000 in Princeton. The victim reported that he was provided with a check for $4,150.31, according to the Princeton Police Department.
After depositing it, he said the party who sent it to him requested the money back via a money order. After refunding the money, Nguyen's bank advised him that the check was fraudulent and the $4,150.31 was then deducted from his balance.
The incident was reported as part of the blotter released by Princeton police on Tuesday. Incidents are merely accusations, and those accused are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. Other incidents that were reported included:

James Millburne, 31, of Cherry Hill, was arrested on an active warrant from Mount Laurel Municipal Court in the amount of $500, as well as a $4,500 warrant from Trenton Municipal Court following a traffic stop for driving on a suspended license on Maxwell Lane on Jan. 29. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued a summons with a pending court date and released on his own recognizance by Trenton police. Millburne was then released into the custody of Mt. Laurel police.
A victim reported that two credit cards were stolen from a locker he was using while at the New York Sports Club on Jan. 25. The credit cards and other personal property were placed in a NYSC locker at approximately 5 p.m. on that date. Later that same day, at about 8 p.m., the victim was notified by his bank of suspicious activity on his credit cards. The victim checked his wallet and found the cards to be missing.

A victim reported that between 2:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 25, an unknown person stole her wallet after she misplaced it on Nassau Street between the Princeton Post Office and the Nearly New Shop. The total value of the theft was $470.
