Princeton Mayor, Council Members Show Support for Iran Nuclear Deal

Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert and three members of council have signed a petition showing their support for the Iran Nuclear Deal, the Princeton Packet reports.
Councilwoman Jenny Crumiller helped start the petition drive, according to the report. Council President Bernard Miller and Councilwoman Jo Butler also signed the petition.
Lempert and Miller are both Jewish, according to the report.

While Israelis strongly oppose the Iran Nuclear Deal, Jewish Americans have been split in their views of the proposed deal.
An independent poll sponsored by LA Jewish Weekly shows 48 percent of American Jews in favor of the deal, with 28 percent opposed.

A poll conducted by J Street shows 60 percent of American Jews are in favor of the deal.
A poll conducted by the Israel Project shows 45 percent of American Jews think Congress should reject the deal.
Earlier this week, Sen. Bob Menendez and Representatives Donald Norcross and Tom MacArthur all voiced their disapproval of the proposed deal.
However, on Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Congress doesn’t have enough votes to block the deal.
