Princeton Mayor to Make Suggestions on Building Code Improvements

The deadline to make suggestions is March 1, according to the Princeton Packet.

Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert was scheduled to make a series of recommendations to the state on how to improve building codes following a fire at an AvalonBay complex in Edgewater in January, the Princeton Packet reports.

Suggestions were to include requiring sprinklers in attic spaces, and lining masonry stairwells, elevator shafts and firewalls with fire-resistant materials, according to the report.

The suggestions come ahead of a project to install a development on the site of the old Princeton Hospital.
