Princeton Mayor Touts Consolidation During Reorganization Meeting

Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert cited a smaller municipal workforce and a lower tax rate among the positives that have come since the merger of the former township and borough during Princeton’s reorganization meeting Monday night, the Princeton Packet reports.

She highlighted a more responsive government that includes Access Princeton, trash collection for all of Princeton and community policing, according to the report.

She also said surrounding towns have taken notice, and that Princeton won the Innovation in Government award from the New Jersey League of Municipalities this year, according to the report.
