Princeton Police Investigate Pair Of $10K Thefts
Over $10,000 was stolen from a church collection plate, and over $10,000 in items were stolen during a home invasion this week, police said.

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Police Department is investigating a pair of thefts that resulted in losses of at least $10,000.
A woman reported that more than $10,000 worth of items was stolen from her home early Tuesday morning. An unknown person entered her home on the 1000 block of Princeton-Kingston Road through an unlocked back door at about 3:49 a.m., police said on Wednesday. The total value of the items stolen was between $10,000 and $11,380. No suspects have been identified.
Additionally, over $10,000 was stolen from the collection plate at St. Paul’s Church Rectory over the weekend. The plate was left in an drawer in an unlocked office. The plate was stolen between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.

Eduardo Macayo, of Somerset, was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), possession of CDS cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for driving the wrong way on a one-way street on Palmer Square West at 2:37 a.m. on Aug. 19. Macayo was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued several motor vehicle and complaint summonses with a pending court date and released to a sober adult.

Yevgenly Shuster, 64, of Princeton, was arrested and charged with shoplifting from McCaffrey's Food Markets on Aug. 21. Shuster was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, issued a complaint summons with a pending court date and released on his own recognizance.
