PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Porchfest is back for its fifth year, bringing free live music to porches across town on Saturday, April 26, from noon to 6 p.m., organized by the Arts Council of Princeton.
The annual community event features local performers playing 45-minute sets across 18 locations throughout Princeton. A new act takes the stage on the hour, every hour from noon to 5 p.m. Genres span classic rock, bluegrass, jazz, singer-songwriter, blues, hip-hop, and classical. Attendees can plant themselves at one porch for the day or walk from location to location.
The day concludes with a closing concert at Hinds Plaza, outside the Princeton Public Library, beginning at 5:15 p.m.

New this year, the event includes a Poetry and Storytelling Open Mic — Story & Verse at Porchfest — also held at Hinds Plaza. The outdoor open mic is described as a welcoming platform for writers and performers of all experience levels. In the event of inclement weather, Story & Verse will move inside to the library's community room. Porchfest will be held rain or shine.
An interactive map of all 18 performance locations and a downloadable map are available at artscouncilofprinceton.org/porchfest-map. Hard copies will also be available at the Arts Council, 102 Witherspoon St.
