Princeton Resident Killed In Trenton Shooting: Authorities

Elias Juarez Lopez of Princeton was found in the 800 block of Roebling Avenue on Sunday with gunshot wounds, authorities said.

PRINCETON, NJ —A Princeton man was killed following a deadly shooting in Trenton over the weekend, a spokesperson from the Mercer County Prosecutor's office said.

Around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, police responded to the intersection of Roebling Avenue and Washington Street for shots fired. Elias Juarez Lopez, 31, of Princeton was found in the 800 block of Roebling Avenue with no pulse, authorities said. Lopez was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, officials said.

In a separate incident around the same time, a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, at the 400 block of Stuyvesant Avenue. He was taken to the hospital, where was pronounced dead a few hours later, authorities said. On Monday morning, the prosecutor's office identified the victim as Omar Burgess, 49, of Trenton.
