Princeton Residents Can Catch Independence Day Fireworks In Montgomery Tonight
Princeton's Fourth of July Fireworks show was canceled last year, but residents can still catch Montgomery's display this week.

PRINCETON, NJ — Although there are no longer fireworks in Princeton after the Spirit of Princeton stopped the show due to funding issues last year, Princeton residents can still see Independence Day fireworks locally.
Montgomery Township will host its 2017 Independence Day and Fireworks celebration on Thursday night, June 29, at Montgomery High School, 1014 Rt. 601, Skillman.
Activities begin at 6 p.m., including games and activities for children. Food vendors will sell everything from hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza to ice cream, kettle corn and funnel cakes will be on sale.

The John Oakes band will perform from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. After a singing of “The Star Spangled Banner” at about 9:15 p.m., there will be a spectacular fireworks display.
Onsite parking passes are still available at the Otto Kaufman Community Center, 356 Skillman Rd., Skillman, NJ 08558 . They can be picked up in person, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Passes cost $15.

Shuttle buses will run continuously on June 29 from the Montgomery Upper Middle School, 375 Burnt Hill Rd., Skillman, to the fireworks grounds at Montgomery High School. Shuttles will begin at 6 p.m. and the last run from the middle school to the high school will be at 8:55 p.m. Shuttles will run again after the fireworks end to return people to their cars at UMS.
